Pennyrile Health Department Expects COVID Vaccine For K-12 Staff Next Week

Officials with the Pennyrile District Health Department announced Wednesday afternoon they may receive an allotment of COVID-19 vaccines next week that will be administered to faculty and staff at schools in its district.
According to health department officials, there is an effort by the state’s governor and public health commissioner to allot COVID vaccines that would be mandated for K-12 school faculty and staff only. Officials say the health department may begin this effort next week when they receive the vaccine.
In addition, officials say the Pennyrile District Health Department will continue vaccinating in each of the five counties in its district to persons 70 and older on oxygen, as the vaccine becomes available.
