Police Find Vehicle Suspected in the Death of Dawson Springs Man

Kentucky State Police investigators have reportedly found the semi-truck they believe hit and killed a Dawson Springs man on Interstate 69 in Hopkins County earlier this month.
On Thursday, KSP Post 2 asked for the public’s assistance locating a white 2018-2022 Freightliner Cascadia that was suspected in the death of 29-year old Michael “Andrew” Dowd. Spokesman Trooper Brandon McPherson said from evidence collected at the scene the semi-truck would have damage to the passenger headlight assembly and hood. He also said it was possible the driver didn’t realize they hit a pedestrian but thought it was an animal or object.
No other details were released about the truck or the driver, but Trooper McPherson said the investigation is ongoing.
Dowd was reported missing on Thursday, February 4th after state police said he was last seen around 1:00 that morning at a residence on Wells Road in Nortonville. State Police reported his body was off of the southbound lanes of Interstate 69 near the 103-mile marker in the early morning hours on Sunday, February 7th.
