Caldwell County High School Greenhouse and FFA Officer Elections Announced

Caldwell County Ag Department had a big week this week. “Farm to Plate”, “Drive your Tractor to School Day” and Region and State Officer Elections were just a few of the many activities during the busy week that ended, in the announcement, of their highly anticipated grand opening for the 2021 Caldwell County High School Greenhouse.
Mark your calendars for Monday, April 12th at 10 am. The students have worked extra hard this year and overcome obstacles through one of the most challenging school years in recent history. The Greenhouse is a student project and all proceeds support student activities for the Agriculture Department. With a selection ranging from hanging baskets, a variety of ferns, 2 to 6-inch pots, 6 pack flats of veggies and annuals, and even aloe and snake plants, there’s sure to be something for every taste and garden size. Their normal operating hours will be Monday – Thursday 8:00- 3:00, and Saturday 10:00 – 1:00, with Friday availability depending on if schedules allow.
One of the Week’s big announcements came in the form of “Congratulations”, to Caldwell Co FFA members Kylie York and Noah Peake! York has been selected as a candidate to run for State officer from the Pennyrile Region and will interview in June. Peake was selected to serve as the 2021-2022 Pennyrile Region Sentinel for the upcoming school year.
Locally, the interviews produced the following Caldwell County Chapter 2021-2022 Officers:
President: Noah Peake
Vice President: Rachel McClung
Secretary: Laken White
Treasurer: Destiny Mitchell
Reporter: Emma Peake
Sentinel: Michealyn Sample
Leadership Team: Lindsey Vied, Ali Southard, Avery Ritchey, Sydney McKinney, and Presley McKinney
In a post on social media, 2021-2022 President for the Caldwell County FFA chapter Noah Peake said: “This past week has been one definitely to remember. This has been a goal of mine and I am beyond blessed to work with such a wonderful team of new officers for the 2021-2022 school year”. He went on to thank Caldwell County advisors Megan Woods and Wes York and wrote: “You both have been there for me during this process and helped accomplish big things within the FFA”.
