Christian Care Center Celebrates New Executive Director And Return Of Volunteers

Christian Care Center has a lot to continue to celebrate in April, as they wrapped up National Social Service Month in March, with not only a new Executive Director but the return of volunteers as well.
On March 8th, with over 20 years of experience, Princeton native, Michelle Goodwin was named the facility’s new executive director for the Kuttawa facility as Gary Parker announced his retirement a few weeks before.
Admission and Marketing’s Heather Ward says the pandemic was hard but they were blessed with their facility remaining Covid Free.

The facility prides itself on making things feel like home for those who stay there long term. Ward says one of the hardest things on their residents, was the mental and emotional toll the lack of interaction with fellow residents and family took on them.

Along with the official announcement on February 22nd of the return of volunteers and visitors to the facility, came communal dining, group activities, the beauty shop, and new admissions. Ward says the facility and employees go out of their way to make life as normal as possible for the residents and says she believes that normalcy and connection to others make a huge difference in their overall health.

Like the rest of Kentucky residents, the staff and volunteers are hopeful with the vaccinations, come stability, and that the restrictions will stay lifted. But for some residents without family and friends to visit regularly, the volunteers quickly become family to them.

For more information on how you can make a difference and volunteer call Christian Care Center at (270) 388-2291 or visit them at cccofkuttawa.com.
