Six Total Active COVID-19 Cases Reported in Caldwell County

The Pennyrile District Health Department is reporting a total of 46 active coronavirus cases in its five-county district as of noon Friday.
According to the COVID-19 case summary, six of those positive COVID-19 cases are in Caldwell County. To date, the county has confirmed 1,214 cases, 1,180 have recovered and 28 deaths have been connected to the virus.
The district reports eleven active COVID cases in Lyon County with three of those hospitalized. Lyon County’s total case count is 1,564 with 1,535 recoveries and eighteen deaths. Lyon County has the highest total confirmed cases in the district mainly in part to a recent outbreak among inmates and staff that occurred at Kentucky State Penitentiary in Eddyville and the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex in Fredonia.
Elsewhere around the district, the health department’s summary shows fifteen active COVID-19 cases in Trigg County, eight in Livingston, and six in Crittenden County.
