Kentucky Reports More Than 1,000 New Weekend COVID Cases

Kentucky reported more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases Saturday and Sunday, with more than 1.76 million Kentuckians receiving at least their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Governor Andy Beshear reported 368 cases of COVID-19 Sunday, with 646 cases reported Saturday making the weekend total 1014 cases. As of Sunday 1,768,000 Kentuckians have been vaccinated. The state positivity rate was at 3.43 percent. There are currently 416 people hospitalized, with 116 in the intensive care, and 48 on a ventilator.
The state reported 4 new deaths Sunday and one new death from the state audit. The statewide death toll now stands at 6,517.
