Caldwell County Congratulates CCHS Student Rachel McClung

Caldwell County is celebrating and congratulating yet another outstanding student.
The Caldwell County High School recently congratulated Lady Tiger Rachel McClung, who has been chosen to attend the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs. GSE opened its doors to the first group of young KY entrepreneurs in 2013, and year after year they bring teens from across the Commonwealth into an immersive, three-week residential program.
Rachel says in the beginning, GSE wasn’t even on her radar.

Not only is McClung a proud Lady Tiger Athlete, and dedicated student, but her involvement in FFA is what she feels pushed her application over the edge and got her noticed.

Rachel believes being well-rounded makes becoming an entrepreneur attainable no matter what your chosen profession.

Rachel credited one of her Caldwell Co Middle School teachers and classes for preparing her for the experience.

She says she was excited after the long wait during the application process to find out she was accepted to the program.

When asked what or who motivates her and continues to push and move her forward, Rachel called upon a family member for the honor.

More than sixteen new businesses have already been launched by GSE alumni. Others have filed for multiple patents and developed new ideas and relationships that sow the seeds for more business formation in the state. For more information, visit the GSE website at kentuckygse.com.
