After another particularly hard year for all families due to the COVID-19 pandemic, King’s Kitchen of Caldwell County needs the community’s help to provide food for its Summer Meal program.
Lee Anne Gilkey with King’s Kitchen tells the News Edge they started this Summer Meal program in 2014, which is funded through donations only in order to provide food for the children in Caldwell County for nine weeks. She says this year they will be providing food for more than 260 children.

They are currently taking donations for the program with a food drive scheduled for Thursday afternoon at WPKY.

Gilkey says they are trying to stay around a 10 to 12-ounce box of food to give to children.
She adds food and monetary donations can be taken to Southside Baptist Church at 205 Nichols Street in Princeton with checks made out to The King’s Kitchen. She says the church is a big contributor but this is a community-based program.
