Police Investigating Dead Animals Found at Providence Residence

Authorities are looking for a couple after officers discovered dead animals at a Providence residence.
Providence police report officers received a call on June 6 about animals being left at a residence on Jefferson Street. Police say the caller indicated there was a bad smell coming from the mobile home and that they had observed animals going in and out of the front door that was open.
During an investigation, officers reportedly found an animal decaying in a kennel inside the residence as well as two decaying kittens. Officers also said they observed feces and the odor of urine throughout the home and it appeared the animals had been abandoned without adequate care.
According to police, the property was also littered with trash and the yard was overgrown.
Providence police say they are trying to locate the homeowner and her boyfriend for questioning regarding this incident.
Providence police and Webster County Animal Control say the investigation is ongoing and charges are forthcoming.
