Caldwell County In ‘Red Zone’ On State’s COVID Incidence Rate Map

With the number of new daily positive cases increasing in Caldwell County this week, the county is back in the  “red zone” on the state’s COVID-19 incidence rate map as of Thursday.
This comes after the Pennyrile District Health Department announced Thursday morning that Caldwell County has 70 total active coronavirus cases, including three hospitalizations.
This week alone, sixteen positive COVID cases were reported in the county on Wednesday, along with eight on Tuesday, and twenty new cases were confirmed from Saturday to Monday. Of these cases, eleven are 13-years old or younger.
As of Thursday afternoon, Caldwell County’s incident rate is 31.4% after falling out of the “red zone” in early March.
Crittenden, Lyon and Livingston counties remain in the “orange zone” while Trigg County is the only county in the health department’s district in the “yellow zone”.
