Superintendent Roach Happy Students Are Returning To In-Person Learning


More than 1,800 students returned to classrooms in the Caldwell County school district Wednesday morning as the 2021-2022 school year got underway.
Superintendent Jeremy Roach tells the News Edge the first day went smoothly and everyone is happy to be back in-person.

click to download audioAccording to Roach, 1,830 students enrolled for the first day of classes, but he added that number could fluctuate over the next week.
Officials with the district’s family resource center say the HOPE and COPE Center will be offering the FGC backpack program again this year. The program provides a bag of non-perishable food items for children to take home on weekends.
