American Red Cross Blood Drives Scheduled In Fredonia

Due to a critical shortage of blood, the American Red Cross has scheduled two blood drive’s in Caldwell County this month.
Lou Zimmerman with the American Red Cross says they continue to experience a blood emergency due to an ongoing critical shortage with an emergency need for type O.
He says the need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community.
According to Zimmerman, an American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held at Fredonia Baptist Church on Friday, August 20 from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. The church is located at 208 Cassidy Street.
In addition, the Fredonia Mennonite Church, located at 16848 Marion Road, is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, August 23, from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Appointments can be scheduled on the donor app or by calling 1-800-Red-Cross or online at RedCrossBlood.Org.
Nationwide, Zimmerman says someone needs a unit of blood every 2 or 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
