Caldwell School Board Approves 2021-2022 Tax Rate

Caldwell County school board members approved the tax rate for 2021-2022 during Monday night’s meeting.
A public hearing regarding the proposed tax rate was held prior to the regular school board meeting but no members of the public attended the hearing and there were no comments.
Board chair Tim Kennaday then read the motion keeping the tax rate the same as last year.

Superintendent Jeremy Roach also provided an update regarding the “test to stay” implementation approved by the school board during a special called meeting last week. Roach also said he and other local superintendents met with a vendor last Thursday, however, he noted that the vendor doesn’t have access to the number of rapid COVID tests needed by the school district.
