Six COVID Related Deaths Reported In Caldwell County


The Pennyrile District Health Department announced Tuesday afternoon 17 new deaths related to COVID-19 around its five-county district since August 26.
According to the health department, six of the deaths linked to the virus were reported in Caldwell County. The deaths were a 74-year old female and a 76-year old male on August 30, a 56-year old male on September 5, a 61-year old male on September 7, and two males, 37 and 74-years old, who died on September 8.
The health department also reported 3 of the deaths were reported in Crittenden County, along with 4 deaths in Livingston County, 1 death involving a 74-year old female on September 12 in Lyon County, and 3 deaths in Trigg County.
In addition to the deaths, the health department announced 68 new positive cases around its district. Of those, 17 of the cases were reported in Caldwell County. All of the cases are recovering at home and involve 10 females and 7 males, ages 10 to 83, with seven of the latest cases 18 and under.
Elsewhere in the district, 27 new COVID cases were reported in Trigg County, along with 9 cases in Crittenden County, 8 cases in Livingston County, and 7 cases in Lyon County.
Officials in Lyon County announced Tuesday afternoon that due to a lockdown at the West Kentucky Correctional Complex due to COVID, the plastic and aluminum can recycling has temporarily been closed this week until the facility reopens. They noted cardboard and other recycling remain open at this time.
