The Princeton Optimist Club recently made a donation to the Caldwell Medical Center Foundation to support its efforts for Breast Cancer Awareness.
George Kilgore says this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Caldwell Medical Center sponsored a 5K on Black Patch Day to raise funds for this important cause and the Optimist Club wanted to show their appreciation by donating to it.
The Centers for Disease and Control Prevention indicates breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women in the United States.
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure says in 1982, 74 percent of women diagnosed with breast cancer survived 5-years or more. Now, if caught early, 98 percent of women survive five years or more.
