Paving Along U.S. 60 Near Smithland Starts Monday

Drivers who travel U.S. 60 in Livingston County may want to allow some extra time on their commute beginning Monday as a paving project gets underway north of Smithland.
District 1 spokesman Keith Todd says a contractor with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to pave a section of U.S. 60 that runs from the Brummitte Road intersection near the Livingston County Fairgrounds and extends eastward to just south of the KY 137/River Road intersection, a distance of about 1.8 miles.
According to Todd, this work zone is immediately north of Smithland and the U.S. 60 Cumberland River Bridge work zone. Paving is expected to take about 3 to 4 days to complete with a target date of November 1, depending on the weather.
Motorists should be alert for one-lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers, with some delays possible as the equipment is being moved around at the site.
