A Kuttawa man was killed in a head-on collision on US 62 near Hopewell Road in Lyon County Friday afternoon.
Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy Sam Adams says 48-year-old Billy Colley of Mayfield was westbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and hit an eastbound SUV driven by 67-year-old Elizabeth Aldridge of Kuttawa.
Elizabeth Aldridge reportedly attempted to avoid the collision but was unable to.
Colley was taken by Livingston County EMS to Baptist Health in Paducah and later transferred to a Nashville hospital. Elizabeth Aldridge was treated by Caldwell County EMS and flown from the scene to an Evansville area hospital for treatment of her injuries.
A passenger in Elizabeth Aldridge’s vehicle 81-year-old Thomas Aldridge was pronounce dead at the scene by the Lyon County Coroner’s Office.
The wreck happened just before 3 pm and blocked US 62 from Dustin Road to Barkley Dam Road for approximately 3 hours.
