The Fredonia Activities Committee has named Glenna Louise Shinall Rowland as the grand marshal for next month’s Christmas parade.
According to officials with the Fredonia Activities Committee, Rowland is a lifelong resident of Fredonia and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1964. She has been an active member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Ministry for over 50 years. Officials say she also served on the Fredonia City Council and was instrumental in heading many projects that enriched the community during that time. They note one of her most notable community projects was working to restart the annual Fredonia parade. They add Rowland has a big heart and is loved by everyone in Fredonia.
Rowland is married to Steve Rowland. She has two children, Stephanie Etheridge and Angela Seibert who is married to Jim Seibert, the mayor of Fredonia. Rowland also has four grandchildren Tyler Etheridge, Lacy Ford, MacKenzie Seibert, and Madelyn Seibert, and one great-granddaughter Stevie Lynn Ford.
Earlier this month, the Fredonia Activities Committee announced the Fredonia Christmas Parade will be held Friday evening, December 3rd, at 6:00. This year’s parade theme is “What Christmas Means to Me”.
