Two more Caldwell Countians have officially filed their paperwork to run in the 2022 election.
According to the Caldwell County Clerk’s Office, Jailer Jon Pettit filed Tuesday to run for Caldwell County sheriff. He is the second Democrat to throw his name in the hat to run for sheriff in the May primary election. Four Republicans have also filed for sheriff and will face off in next year’s primary election.
And Republican incumbent Rick Tosh filed Wednesday seeking reelection as County Surveyor.
The deadline to file for partisan seats is January 7, 2022.
Kentucky’s Primary Election is May 17, 2022, and the state’s General Election is November 8, 2022.
