Latest Candidate Filings In Caldwell County


Two candidates filed their paperwork Monday to run in the May primary in Caldwell County.
According to the Caldwell County Clerk’s Office, Chase Peyton Mitchell filed as a Republican to run for the District 4 magistrate seat currently held by Jeff Simms.
And William Keith Suits, a Lyon County Sheriff’s deputy, is the sixth Republican candidate to file for the Caldwell County sheriff’s race and will face Chris Noel, Jeremy Hillyard, Brent McDowell, Don Weedman and Steve Caldwell in the primary. Two Democratic candidates have also filed to run for sheriff — James Trent Fox and Jon Pettit.
The deadline to file for partisan seats is January 7, 2022.
Kentucky’s Primary Election is May 17, 2022, and the state’s General Election is November 8, 2022.
