Caldwell’s October Jobless Rate Falls


Jobless rates fell in all nine Pennyrile counties in October when compared to the previous month and dropped from the same time last year.
The Kentucky Center for Statistics reported the Pennyrile jobless rate at 4.3-percent for October, which is a two-tenths drop from September and down seven-tenths from October of 2020.
The numbers showed the district with a labor force of over 79,000 people with 3,432 actively seeking work.
The October jobless rate in Caldwell County was 3.6-percent, down two-tenths from September and eighth-tenths from last year. The report said Caldwell County had a civilian labor force of 5,555 people with 202 people seeking work.
In Lyon County, the October rate was 3.7-percent, down from the October 2020 rate of four percent. The report said the county’s civilian labor force was 3,016 people with 112 seeking work.
In the Pennyrile, the rates ranged from three percent in Todd County to 5.4-percent in Muhlenberg County. Todd County’s rate was among the lowest in the state for October.
