Various Drugs, Guns Seized In Hopkins County Investigation

Police say multiple arrests are expected after an investigation began into a large-scale drug trafficking operation in Hopkins County in late 2018. During the investigation, detectives from the Madisonville Police/Hopkins County Vice/Narcotics Unit identified several residences and several suspects.
On Thursday, Madisonville Police report detectives executed three residential search warrants at 613 and 619 Sharp Avenue and 117 New Arnold Street in Earlington. Detectives say they seized approximately 110 pounds of marijuana, two ounces of hallucinogens (mushrooms), one ounce of methamphetamine, 1/2 ounce of cocaine, several miscellaneous controlled substances, and five handguns.
Police say this is still an active investigation and multiple arrests are expected to follow.
Detectives were assisted by the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement and Special Investigation Unit, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Madisonville Police Department Patrol and K-9 units, and Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputies.
