Boil Water Advisory Lifted For Fredonia Water System

A Boil Water Advisory in effect for residents and businesses on the Fredonia water system has been lifted.
Mayor Jim Seibert tells the News Edge the advisory was lifted Wednesday morning.
As previously reported, Mayor Seibert said they found a small leak in the water line on KY 641 last week which would require the water to be shut off to all customers. He said they would wait until Monday to make the repairs so that residents and businesses in Fredonia were not without water over the weekend.
According to the mayor, they shut off the water around 11:30 Monday morning and were able to make the repairs and turn the water back on around 2:00 Monday afternoon, prompting the boil water advisory to be issued.
Mayor Seibert also told the News Edge last week that the repair to the leak on KY 641 is part of an upcoming improvement project to install more valves on the waterline in Fredonia so they can better isolate leaks in the future.
