Amfine manufactures specialty plastic additives used in a variety of end-use applications from automotive plastics to medical devices. This position reports to the SVP/Plant Manager (KY) and EVP (NJ), is a member of the leadership team, and has shared accountability with his/her management colleagues for the overall safe, reliable, responsible, and profitable performance of the company.
Responsibilities at the plant (KY) and corporate (NJ) levels include:
- Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets management information needs.
- Direct admin clerk on payroll process and admin in NJ when needed.
- Develops policy and directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services.
- Help create & maintain a rewarding work environment consisting of incentives, benefits, lunches, wellness, outings, parties & etc.
- Oversees full-cycle recruitment process including recruiting, reviewing resumes, interviewing, reference checks, employee selection, scheduling pre-hire activities and conducting new hire orientation.
- Conducts training, such as new employee orientation (consisting of presentation of handbook, paperwork, explanation of benefits & scheduling of other managers for their presentations), on-the-job training, management development, and adaptations to changes in policies and procedures.
- Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation and benefit plan.
- Advises management on disciplinary issues.
- Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.
- Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of personnel records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
- Writes and delivers presentations regarding human resources policies and practices.
- Researches and writes copy for plant promotional materials.
- Advises management on community relations projects and activities.
- Arranges for company and plant tours.
- Conducts needs analysis studies and confers with managers and supervisors to determine training needs.
- Plans, coordinates, and directs training and staff development programs.
- Formulates training policies, programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs.
- Processes payroll and attendance records
- Coordinates established training courses with technical and professional courses offered by community schools.
- Oversees the administration of workers’ compensation program, including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee lost time.
- Develops, coordinates, and directs public relations activities for plant.
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and at least five years related experience.
- Ability to speak fluent English.
- Strong management, leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills.
- Flexible and ability to multi-task between the plant level and the corporate office (NJ).
- The ability to concentrate for extended periods.
- Must be able to travel <5% of time, including domestic and/or international air travel.
- Ability to obtain a valid passport
- Possess a current driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Working Knowledge of payroll software & HRIS.
