An investigation into a suspicious person complaint and illegal dumpsite in Lyon County Friday led to the arrest of a Kuttawa man for possession of meth and criminal littering.
Lyon County Chief Deputy Sheriff Sam Adams responded to the suspicious person complaint behind a residence near the intersection of KY 819 and KY 93 North shortly after 8:10 Friday morning. He said he didn’t locate anybody but just down the road from the residence, there was a fresh illegal dumpsite consisting of household garbage and discarded goods.
According to Chief Deputy Adams, an investigation led to the arrests of 47-year old Jimmy Richard Hawkins and 18-year old Jason S. Reed, both of Kuttawa, after they were located at a home near the original complaint location.
Reed was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center charged with first-degree possession of  a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal littering for the illegal dumpsite.
Hawkins was taken into custody on a Marshall County Circuit Court Bench Warrant for probation violation and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center.
Chief Deputy Adams says the Lyon County Road Department was called to clean up the dumpsite.
