The West Kentucky 4-H Camp in Dawson Springs is serving the community the camp has been a part of for decades to provide supplies and volunteer lodging.
Camp Interim Assistant Director Eden Elfrink says buildings and grounds at the camp that is located on the outskirts of Dawson Springs suffered only minor damages during the December 10 tornado.

click to download audioChristmas Eve and Christmas Day the camp staff opened their doors to the community to host Christmas meals for community members that were impacted by the tornado. The meals were sponsored by Hopkins County Fiscal Court, Dr. Pepper, the Baptist Temple of Dawson Springs, and the Ohio Amish Community. Elfrink says they hosted 200 to 300 people on Christmas Eve, with 150 to 200 people enjoying Christmas Day activities at the camp.
