Officials with Caldwell County Schools have announced Malissa Thomas has been selected to the Kentucky Association of School Administrators to join the 2022 Class of Kentucky Women in Education Leadership (KWEL).
According to Public Relations Coordinator Lizzie Shelton, Thomas has been in education for the past 19 years, with her most recent years spent serving as principal at Caldwell County Elementary School. Superintendent Jeremy Roach says Thomas is dedicated to the students of Caldwell County and was a perfect choice to participate in their program due to her variety of strengths in school leadership. Roach said she will represent Caldwell County proudly.
Shelton said the Kentucky Association of School Administrators announced the 2022 class of inductees on Friday, December 10. Thomas is one of 58 women selected across Kentucky to join the Kentucky Women in Education Leadership this year. CASA Executive Director Dr. Rhonda Caldwell says the large number of inductees speaks to a valuable support program for women leading our public schools today.
Kentucky Women in Education Leadership is a branch of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators and connects women throughout the state in P-12 public education. Now, in the program’s fifth year, officials say KWEL has grown to include over 150 members, once the class of 2022 has been inducted.
New members will be inducted during a ceremony on January 27, as part of a two-day conference in Louisville.
