Princeton Mayor Hoping To Start Rebuilding Process Soon

Princeton Mayor Kota Young says the city’s clean-up efforts from the December tornado have moved quickly and they are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
During a Monday morning visit at WPKY, Young says they are hopeful the city may be able to wrap up the clean-up this week. He is asking individuals to utilize the many volunteer groups who are in Caldwell County to help get appliances, damaged furniture, trees, or any other items to the curb.

According to Young, most of the trees that were marked with an orange “X” have been removed but if you still have trees you want to be removed, he says you need to call one of the volunteer groups. He says they can remove the trees and get them to the curb so the city can legally pick them up to haul to the burn site.
Mayor Young says the city is a good place right now to largely finish this week.

He adds they want to get this wrapped up this week and move full steam ahead into the rebuilding process, which has already begun.

Mayor Young says the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and he’s asking individuals with any clean-up needs to take advantage of the volunteer opportunities to get this wrapped up.

The mayor says the community can work together this week and then hopefully next week reclaim the landfill and then move into the rebuilding phase in a couple of weeks.
He also reminds everyone the volunteer and donation center has moved to the former Sav-a-lot building on U.S. 62 West behind Hardees to share your needs or ask for volunteers to help.
