Princeton Business Owner Explains Contractor Registration Process

After action was taken by Caldwell County Fiscal Court this week, contractors are now required to register with the state Attorney General’s Office in order to protect citizens as they start the rebuilding process after last month’s tornado.
Local contractor and owner of Adams Contracting, Donnie Adams spoke with WPKY Friday morning about the documents contractors will need when they register at Princeton City Hall in order to work in Caldwell County.

He says contractors also need to have a license to do business in Caldwell County as well as liability and workman’s comp insurance.

He says the first thing contractors will need to do is get a business license if they don’t have one for Princeton and Caldwell County.

According to Adams, the registration process is simple and doesn’t take long to complete.

Adams says contractors are required to have one placard in every company vehicle.

Representatives from the Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection are set up in Princeton City Hall, located at 206 East Market Street, and will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For any questions, call (502) 871-2424.
Contractors who are already registered with the City of Princeton and Caldwell County can stop by the office to complete registration with the Attorney General’s staff and receive a placard.
