A Henderson County man and McCracken County woman are facing charges in Lyon County after deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint off US 641 north of Eddyville.
Sheriff Brent White and Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to the complaint around 1:15 Wednesday afternoon and found a vehicle in a field area. Sheriff White reports they then found two subjects, later identified as 47-year old Cynthia Lawler, of Paducah, and 44-year old Scotty Skaggs, of Baskett, who were trespassing on the property they did not have permission to be on.
Sheriff White says an investigation revealed the Lawler and Skaggs were looking for scrap metal and got their vehicle stuck in the mud on the property.
Skaggs and Lawler were taken into custody and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing and third-degree criminal mischief. Skaggs also was charged with possession of meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
