Ice Storm Causing Slick Roads and Downed Trees In Princeton Area

The winter ice storm is starting to cause hazardous driving conditions and downed trees in the Princeton-Caldwell County area.
Princeton Public Works Director David Sullenger says streets and side roads are starting to become slick in spots, especially bridges and overpasses. He also reports trees in the area have already become compromised with Public Works responding to clear multiple areas of tree debris from roadways Thursday morning.
With these conditions, Sullenger says this is making travel hazardous and motorists need to use extreme caution when traveling. He urges residents to stay at home when possible as conditions will continue to deteriorate as the day goes on.
Sullenger also wants to ensure residents that Princeton Public Works is out in full force today and will update conditions throughout the remainder of this winter weather event.
To report trees and debris in roadways in Caldwell County, please call the non-emergency dispatch number at 270-365-7860.
