Road conditions have improved on main routes around the area today, but with a wind chill below zero tonight any roads that still have any precipitation will refreeze, making driving conditions hazardous.
During an update with WPKY’s News Edge, Judge Executive Wade White says crews have continued to work on the roads today and conditions have improved throughout Lyon County, but some roads will refreeze overnight causing slick conditions.
click to download audioHe says approximately 1,200 homes were without power as of mid-afternoon with the remainder to be restored by tonight or Saturday.
click to download audioJudge White says they have opened a warming center at the Lyon Convention Center at Lee S Jones Park. However, he adds if no one shows up before 5:00 or 6:00 this evening they will close it.
