Sunshine And Warmer Temps To Improve Roads

A combination of sunshine and warmer temperatures Sunday will continue to improve county and state roads that did not completely thaw Saturday.

A day of sunshine and temperatures near the 30-degree mark Saturday led to a massive improvement in most state and local roads in Christian, Trigg, Caldwell, and other counties.
District One Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says crews in all counties in Western Kentucky were able to work on clearing roads with the help of sunshine and ice fighting chemicals. He noted significant progress was made.
District two spokesman Kiersten Jaggers said similar progress was made Saturday. She also noted crews were working along major thoroughfares to remove trees and limbs that fell due to the ice.
Be on the lookout for isolated slick spots on secondary roads that did not receive much attention Saturday or may not have been affected by the sunshine and warmer temperatures.
