Princeton Mayor Kota Young announced Monday afternoon the details of the city’s ice storm clean-up plan.
Mayor Young says the city will be picking up tree and limb debris, which residents should place curbside. However, he says do not place any debris in ditches, on sidewalks, or too closed to the roadway as to present a hazard to traffic. He notes this pick-up is just for trees and limbs and this is not the spring trash pick-up.
Mayor Young says in the interest of ensuring that all residents have ample time to bring their limbs to the roadway, pick-up will be city-wide on Monday, February 21st.
In addition, the mayor says a burn site for the collected limbs is being built in the Industrial Park. He says residents may bring their limbs and trees directly to the burn site located at the end of Park Avenue (past HydroGear) this Thursday. Once on Park Avenue, those bringing debris should continue on the gravel road, until you see the collection point to your left.
Mayor Young says residents may also burn limbs at their residence. He adds that any at-home fires need to be kept at a manageable size, removed from any structures, and with awareness of how smoke may affect your neighbors. He says in other words, use common sense and be a good neighbor.
