Providence Woman With Criminal History Arrested Again On Drug Charges

A 31-year old woman with numerous prior criminal convictions was once again arrested for possessing drugs after a traffic stop in Providence Monday night.
Providence Police Officer Jay Riley Edwards reports a vehicle driven by Lacey Gentry was stopped on West Main Street around 9:00 p.m. after he observed it crossing the center of the roadway. After the stop, Officer Edwards said Gentry appeared under the influence and she was asked to get out of the vehicle to perform field sobriety tests. When she exited the vehicle, Officer Edwards said he observed a loaded syringe in the driver’s seat. In addition, a case containing methamphetamine, marijuana and a jar of an unidentified substance was reportedly found during a search of the vehicle.
Officer Edwards says Gentry failed the sobriety tests and she was taken into custody on charges for possession of marijuana, meth and drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance drug unspecified, and license to be in possession. She was booked into the Webster County Jail.
According to Providence Police, Gentry has numerous prior criminal convictions including assault, two resisting arrest convictions, possession of meth precursor, two possession of marijuana convictions, drug paraphernalia, menacing, criminal mischief, three disorderly conduct convictions, three theft convictions, criminal trespassing, as well a parole violation, and a variety of traffic-related convictions.
