Princeton Man Charged With Trafficking Marijuana


A Princeton man was arrested after police say he was found with more than 20 grams of marijuana and a handgun Friday morning.
Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reports officers responded to a call shortly after 8:00 a.m. about a man being passed out in his vehicle at the Circle K on South Jefferson Street. Officers made contact with 32-year old Duell M. Smith and while checking his welfare they observed a handgun next to the console.
According to police, a further investigation revealed Smith was a convicted felon. Officers said he was also found in possession of approximately 28 grams of marijuana and a weigh scale.
Smith was taken into custody and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces, 1st offense, firearm enhanced.
