The Caldwell County community came together this past weekend and raised thousands of dollars to help a well-known and beloved community member, ag teacher, and FFA adviser at the Caldwell County Public Schools.
Officials with Fredonia First Baptist Church have announced $11,000 was raised Saturday night for the family of Wes York who is recovering after a battle with COVID-19 and other health issues.
As previously reported, Fredonia First Baptist Church partnered with Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church to sell catfish dinners and host a benefit concert at The Hive Saturday evening featuring local talent from both churches.
The churches ask the community to continue to pray for the family as York recovers.
