UPDATE: I-24 Eastbound Traffic Resumes Normal Flow In Lyon County

As of 10:55 p.m., the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports eastbound traffic has returned to normal flow at the 48.5-mile marker in Lyon County where it had been restricted to one lane at the site of a multi-vehicle crash in the median.
UPDATE – 10:10 PM:
Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet say the eastbound lane restriction on Interstate 24 near the 49-mile marker in Lyon County has been extended two hours to approximately midnight.
INITIAL STORY:
Eastbound traffic has been restricted to one lane on Interstate 24 in Lyon County as emergency personnel and law enforcement work the scene of a multi-vehicle wreck with possible fatalities.
District 1 spokesman Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the crash scene is near the 49-mile marker in Lyon County, about 3 miles east of the KY 293 Eddyville-Princeton Exit 45 Interchange.
He says all traffic has been moved to the right-hand or driving lane at this crash site to allow a crash reconstruction investigation. Motorists should use caution due to police and emergency response personnel along the roadway.
According to Todd, the estimated duration is 3 hours.
