Man Injured While Working At Crittenden County Schools

Officials with Crittenden County Public Schools are reporting an electrician was injured Friday while working on Phase II upgrades at the high school. At this time, officials say it appears the individual suffered severe burns when upgrading an electrical panel as part of the school’s renovation project.
School officials say thanks to the swift action of middle/high school nurse Brandy Whitney, and high school art teacher, Elizabeth Rodriguez, who is also a certified EMT, the man received immediate quality care until paramedics with Crittenden Community Hospital arrived on the scene.
According to officials, high school students were moved to Rocket Arena around 1:30 until the panel was evaluated, and it was deemed safe for them to return to the building, which was at approximately 2:30.
The man who was injured was reportedly conscious and flown to a Nashville hospital for further evaluation and treatment. School officials say their thoughts are with him and his family and ask the community to join them in prayer for his recovery.
