A Caldwell County Elementary School student has been awarded 1st place for her AARP Grandparent Essay and will represent the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association District 1 at the state level.
Caldwell County Retired Teachers Association President Ginnie Oldham says Hannah Morris read her essay about her grandmother, retired teacher Edith Carner, at their meeting on March 18th and was awarded 1st place.
According to Oldham, Jonah Crim was awarded 2nd place.
Oldham presented the AARP/CCRTA Grandparent Essay winners with certificates and awards during a morning assembly at the elementary school on Friday.
Hannah is the daughter of David and Leighann Morris, and Jonah is the son of Misty Dorsey and Bryan Crim.
