Upcoming Caldwell County 4-H Events


4-H Agent Rhonda Jewell with the Caldwell County Extension Office announced Friday during an interview on WPKY that they have a very busy month ahead with several events and activities planned through the first week in May.
Jewell said she is attending and participating in a national program for extension agents Monday and Tuesday in Carrollton.


click to download audioShe added that livestock judging will start back on April 13 and the 4-H Teen Council will meet on April 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the extension office. Then, on April 19th at 6:00 p.m., Jewell said they will have orientation for anyone interested in participating in the 4-H shooting sports program.

click to download audioAccording to Jewell, April 23rd is clean-up day at the shooting range off of Dawson Road.


click to download audioComing up at the end of April, Jewell said she will be taking the local Teen Council to the 4-H camp in London, and they will also start the interview process of teen leaders for the 4-H camp in Dawson Springs.


click to download audioJewell said the big thing coming up this year is the Pennyrile Area Communications Contest, which is speeches and demonstrations from 4-H kids. It will be held in person on Friday, May 6, after being virtual for the last two years due to the pandemic.
