Lyon County Juvenile Charged With Threats Against School Students

A 14-year old juvenile is facing multiple charges after an investigation into threats made against Lyon County school students.
Spokeswoman Trooper Sarah Burgess with Kentucky State Police says officials with Lyon County High School contacted Post 1 Thursday evening requesting assistance with investigating threats made against students after school was dismissed Thursday.
She says an initial investigation that included interviews with several students determined a juvenile had made threatening statements including specific threats against several individual students.
The juvenile suspect was taken into custody and detained at the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of five counts of second-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree disorderly conduct.
Kentucky State Police urges all parents and youth to be attentive to suspicious activity. Any suspicious activity and threatening statements should be reported to KSP Post 1 at (270) 856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.
