Hopkins County Man Faces Multiple Drug Charges After Paducah Traffic Stop

A traffic stop in McCracken County led to the arrest of a Hopkins County man for possessing multiple drugs and guns Saturday afternoon.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office reports a deputy stopped a motorcycle driven by 33-year old Matthew S. Wedge on South 21st Street in Paducah around 3:00 p.m.
During the investigation, Wedge was reportedly found to be in possession of crystal meth, marijuana, illegally possessed prescription medication and several items related to drug paraphernalia. In addition, the deputy said Wedge was in possession of two loaded handguns which enhances the drug-related charges.
Wedge was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth) – firearm enhanced, possession of marijuana – firearm enhanced, possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, prescription not in proper container, no motorcycle operator’s license, no insurance and no registration plates. He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
