Providence Man Charged With Assault and Criminal Mischief


A Providence man was arrested after he allegedly assaulted another man during an argument over a property boundary issue.
Providence Police Chief Todd Jones says he received a call of a fight at 108 Barbour Street in Providence around 7:00 Wednesday night.
Upon arrival, Chief Jones said he talked to the alleged victim who stated that the was mowing the backyard of a vacant residence that his parents owned when 39-year old Dustin Eddings approached him from a neighboring yard. The victim stated that he turned off the mower and a verbal argument ensued over a property boundary issue.
According to Chief Jones, a victim and witness stated that Eddings allegedly came onto the property and attacked the victim causing injury to the left side of his head. In addition, Eddings’ actions reportedly caused the destruction of personal property belonging to the victim that totaled over $1,000.
Eddings was taken into custody and lodged in the Webster County Jail for fourth-degree assault causing minor injury and first-degree criminal mischief.
