Funeral services for 89-year old Marion Douglas “Doug” Copeland, of Princeton, will be at 1:00 Saturday afternoon, June 4, at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 Saturday morning.
He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. One special niece, Marie Copeland Sweatt, went above and beyond to ensure that Doug received the care that he needed. She was his angel here on Earth.
Doug also leaves behind a dear friend, Dean Crawford. They met as Dean happened to be passing through the city on Derby Day, 1972. Doug waved at him, and this began a friendship that lasted more than 50 years.
