Caldwell County Creeps Into COVID Red County Status


With an increase in COVID-19 cases around the area, four of the five counties served by the Pennyrile District Health Department are back in the red on the state’s incidence rate map.
The Pennyrile District Health Department announced as of 5:00 Monday afternoon there were 105 new COVID cases around its district for June 9 – 13. Of those, 17 new cases of the virus were reported in Caldwell County, along with 41 new cases in Lyon County, 23 new cases in Livingston County, 16 new cases in Trigg County, and 8 new cases in Livingston County.
According to the latest COVID-19 incidence rate map on the state’s website, Caldwell, Crittenden, Lyon and Livingston are in the “red” or high incidence rate which is based on the number of cases per 100,000 population. Those numbers do not take into account home tests.
