Princeton Mayor Kota Young has announced that paving will begin Friday after a surprise cancellation with the city’s contractor moved the projects up on their list. The mayor said the paving would begin with Jeff Watson Road.
He noted the full paving list this year includes:
– Airport Road
– Baker Hill Road from the pavilion to the end
– Cadiz Street beside Ratliff Park
– Cantrell Drive
– Cash Drive
– Cedar Creek Road
– Country Lane
– Dowell Drive
– Hillcrest Drive
– Hope Lane
– Industry Lane
– Jeff Watson Road
– Manor Drive
– Murray Drive
– Old Madisonville Road to the intersection with Baker Hill
– South Darby Street from Washington Street to the dead-end
The mayor said they will continue to provide updates about the paving in the days to come.
After this year’s paving cycle has been completed, Mayor Young indicated over 36 miles of City roadway — including 140 of the city’s 184 streets, 26 of the city’s 27 alleys, and both cemeteries — will have been repaved over the last three years. He added that’s nearly 37,000 tons of asphalt — enough to pave 70 football fields an inch and a half deep.
