Kenergy announced Tuesday it’s partnering with Conexon Connect to launch a fiber network to bring internet service to counties served by the electric cooperative.
It was noted by officials that this is Conexon Connect’s first partnership in Kentucky.
Officials said the Conexon Connect network will deploy 7,200-mile fiber-to-the-home internet service to homes and businesses served by Kenergy including Caldwell, Crittenden, Hopkins, Lyon and Webster counties. They iterated the goal is to ultimately expand fiber broadband access to all approximately 49,000 members served by Kenergy.
Currently, according to officials, they are determining the initial network design, construction plans, and schedule.
Kenergy noted construction of the broadband network is scheduled to begin within the coming months and is estimated to take about three years to complete. You can stay up to date on the latest information by following the Connect, powered by Kenergy, website – or visiting Kenergy’s Facebook page.
