
The new Caldwell County Middle School principal spoke about his priorities for the upcoming school year at the weekly meeting of the Princeton Rotary Club.
Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Roach introduced Dr. Tim Roy at Tuesday’s rotary meeting. He shared that Dr. Roy was the former Webster County High School principal before being hired to fill the principal slot at the Caldwell County Middle School. Dr. Roy has also served as a middle school principal in Hopkins County and dean of students in Daviess County.
Dr. Roy said he is in his 28th year in education with 17 years of school leadership experience in principal and assistant principal roles. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1995 and all of his graduate work has been at Murray State University.
Dr. Roy went on to share that his wife has been involved with the Rotary Club in Hopkins County for many years, and his own personal core beliefs align with the organization’s mission statement “Service Above Self”.
His focus on coming in as the middle school principal is safety, culture, and leadership. He went on to explain that the safety of students and staff is the number one priority.
click to download audioHe added they are working on the school and district level to beef up security measures to ensure parents all the necessary steps are being taken to keep kids and staff members safe.
click to download audioThe second thing he wants to focus on this year is culture to reengage families and the community after many struggles the last two or three years through COVID, financial crisis and all the other things going on in the world.
click to download audioDr. Roy said he has always been a firm believer when he worked at the middle school level that one of the opportunities that administrators and teachers have is to create memories. He said middle school students are at a difficult age and they want to create some enthusiasm for these kids.

click to download audioFor the middle school to function at its highest level, he noted they have to get all of the stakeholders, the school community, kids and staff to pull forward together.
He concluded by stating that he is really excited to be in Caldwell County and thanked Dr. Roach and the site-based-decision making council for giving him the opportunity to serve as the middle school principal.
