Community Gathers For Fredonia Lions Club Festival (w/PHOTOS)

Families and friends gathered over the weekend at Buddy Rogers Park for the 57th annual Fredonia Lions Club Festival to enjoy some good food, games, music, and other activities — all in the spirit of a community coming together to raise money for the non-profit organization that helps so many in Caldwell County.
The festival kicked off Friday night with the annual parade along with free hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks. There was also free watermelon courtesy of Fredonia Valley Bank. Director of Community Development at the bank, Cameron Edwards noted they gave away over 250 portions during the parade.

On Saturday, several booths were set up at the park including the Caldwell County FFA Chapter. Sentinel Laney Jones says the festival is a great opportunity for them to raise funds.

York passed away in May and Jones shared her memory of his excitement when the FFA chapter was awarded a grant he submitted for a woodcarving machine.

She also noted York started the traditional kid’s tractor pulls at the annual festival.
